David didn't want to go to school. David didn't even want to get out of bed. David didn't even want to wake up! But when the alarm clock went off he fell out of bed with fright! He struggled into his school clothes, and off in to the kitchen to make his breakfast, cornflakes, wolfed it down and he was ready.

David grabbed his school bag, down the hallway and out through the front door. Walking along the road he notice that there wern't too many cars, in fact there wern't any cars, any people, just Mrs.Cavanagh's cat. David was nearly at school, his favourite part of his walk, he got to cross old Mr.Henrys farm to get there. Mr Henrys farm had cows, lots of cows, and David like to walk through the cow paddock and look at them, all stearing at him with those big wide eyes. Half way across the field David stood in a cow pat it was all over his shoe.

David finally got to school, there was no one there, no teachers, no kids, just the care taker mowing the fields in his tractor. David didn't need to wake up. David didn't need to get out of bed, David didn't need to go to school, it was Sunday!
