For the North Island, More showers for most places at first with snow affecting most higher roads, but becoming fine north of Taupo later. Cold southerlies rising to gale in east and south for a time. For the South Island, showers clearing to coastal areas north of Banks Peninsula and the south coast. Overnight frosts in many places.

Wednesday

Fine in most places with a frosty start in the South Island.

Thursday

Morning frosts in maany places, but cloud developing in the southwest of the South Island.

Friday

Fine with a frosty start for most in the North Island. Becoming cloudy in the west and south of the South Island with rain developing in Fiordland and southern Westland.

Saturday
